Aromas of citrus fruit such as red oranges and chocolate follow through to a full body, with lovely velvety tannins and a long finish. Extremely well done for the vintage.

Now one of my favorite Pomerols (a 2005 tasted in Beijing, China recently was out of this world), the 2011 Hosanna does not have the power of that vintage, or 2009 and 2010, but it exhibits complex forest floor, floral, black raspberry and black cherry notes. With a savory, broad opulence as well as a medium to full-bodied appeal, this silky smooth, seductive, complex wine can be drunk now or cellared for a decade or more.

Even if it hasn't quite reached the same heights as its neighbours, Pétrus and Vieux Château Certan in 2011, this is still a very fine wine from the Moueix family. Lifted aromatics, nicely handled oak and understated power are the themes here, with plenty of underlying structure and sweet plum and raspberry fruit. 10+ years.
Good depth and concentration for the vintage. Layered dark fruit (blackcurrant) with a hint of spice. Recognizable power and volume but in a lower register.
